Aan comes from the Veltman mare line. He bred his own line from the mare Jeltje, which came from his father-in-law, producing various model mares, Breeding Day Champions, and many star mares.
An's mother Dieke was awarded first prize as a three-year-old. The Veltman family was always very proud of their breeding program, and in their later years they were fortunate enough to see this breeding program crowned with a stud stallion.
Aan comes from a mare line whose horses are eager to work hard, and his sire Abe 346 is also a hard worker. Aan is therefore an honest, somewhat cheeky stallion with good commitment, plenty of bravado, and a strong work ethic, who takes a keen interest in his surroundings.
