Matthys is a luxurious, breed-typical stallion with a youthful appearance. He has a good conformation, with a well-formed, long neck that sits nicely on his shoulders. His topline has good connections, and his legs are strong and of high quality.
The combination Norbert 444 x Beart 411 has already proven very successful in Friesian horse breeding. Matthys's dam is a first premium star mare who was declared preferent at a young age. Two of her daughters have won multiple youth championships and are first premium stars and Crowns.
Matthys has been successfully competing in sports, both in harness racing and dressage. In 2017, he made his debut in harness racing for the Frisian sjees, finishing in second place in the final standings of the National Competition.
Matthys performs exceptionally well in dressage. He is Sport Elite and now competes in the Intermediaire II – Grand Tour, achieving excellent scores.
Matthys' offspring are very promising, they have a lot of luxury, breed, and charisma. They make a lot of front in movement and can move extra. The star percentage is above average and his children also scored above average in the ABFP tests! Daughter Mila from Demro Stables achieved a top score of 88 points under saddle and 86 points for the carriage.
During the first viewing of the 2023/2024 stallion inspection, eight sons of Matthys were selected for the second viewing in Leeuwarden, making him one of the leading sires. Of these, four have been selected for the preliminary viewing days.
